NJF Capital presents Coindrum. Coindrum allows airline passengers to spend unwanted coin currency before departing into different currency jurisdictions. Their machines are placed before retail areas of airport departure gates for travellers to deposit their coins and immediately receive printed vouchers worth 110% of the deposited value, which can then be spent in airport retail shops. The solution solves the foreign coin inconvenience for travellers, increases footfall penetration for airport retailers and also offers a charity function.
Coindrum, a start-up that makes machines for converting coins into notes and vouchers, received €500,000 in bridge funding from existing backers including entrepreneur Bobby Healy.
Dublin-based outfit Coindrum was chosen to take part in a programme linked to an early Google backer.
