NJF Capital presents Gideon Brothers. The rate of increase in supply chain jobs currently outpaces available talent by a factor of six. Vacancies, high turnover and thin margins impact growth, morale and bottom line. Robot transport offers a solution to automate monotonous tasks in warehouses and reduce costs by up to 75% compared to manned forklifts, whilst allowing workers to allocate more of their time to higher-value tasks, alleviating labour shortages in the industry.
The transition from a labour-intensive warehouse to a fully-automated warehouse has a long horizon and it is expected that most warehouses will require robots and labour to work within the same environment for many years to come. This means that robots need to operate safely alongside workers.
Gideon Brothers is a pioneer in visual perception-driven autonomous robots. Unlike LiDAR solutions, which can detect only the presence or absence of matter and is limited by range, Gideon Brothers is one of few global companies building a visual perception system using a pair of stereoscopic cameras to perceive the world just like human eyes do, in 3D and full colour. Their IP in object recognition, depth recognition and semantic analysis further extends the capabilities of warehouse robots, and can be easily deployed into existing warehouses of various shapes, sizes and requirements.
Gideon Brothers, a Croatia-based robotics and AI start-up, has raised a $31 million Series A round led by Koch Disruptive Technologies
Gideon Brothers, which makes logistics autonomous robots, also wants to manufacture disinfection robots for hospitals in the ongoing coronavirus battle.
The Croatian Post has introduced pallet-carrier robots made by Croatian artificial intelligence and robotics company Gideon Brothers in its new sorting and logistics centre in Zagreb
Global logistics service provider DB Schenker has introduced autonomous robots from the manufacturer Gideon Brothers at its location in Leipzig.
